Thad Ricker is an artist and art educator who resides in Columbus, Ohio. He received a Bachelor of Liberal Studies Degree, with an emphasis in Art History, from Bowling Green State University in 1990. From there he interned at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, working in their Publications Department. After his time at MoMA, Thad returned to BGSU to obtain his B.F.A. in Ceramics and a teaching certificate. For the past 20 years, Thad has taught high school art at Hilliard Davidson High School. For 15 of those years he has also served as the Executive Director of the Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition, http://www.govart.org, which is a high school art competition open to all students in the state of Ohio. In 2001, Thad completed his M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction at Ashland University. Although Thad worked in, and taught, ceramics for many years, he currently teaches primarily photography classes. His current work as an artist is also photography-based.
